Wiley's Friendly Frosty Face

Photographs like this one are not easy. The wolf must be comfortable with you the Photographer. Only a couple of the wolves at Northern Lights Wildlife Center in Golden, British Columbia are imprinted which means you can plan your shots but the wolf being wild means you shoot as much as you can and evaluate afterwords. Most of my shots are manual focus from this last December shoot as the falling snow inhibits the use of auto focus. Remember the wolves are in constant motion during the entire session.
